 Phase 1: Your Journey Begins with the Singapore Public Service

Your journey begins with a 3 to 6 months stint in your parent agency. During this period, you will gain a better understanding of your parent agency's work, and where you may be able to contribute after your work immersion in China. In addition, you will be offered developmental opportunities, which include induction programmes to prepare you for your future career in the Singapore Public Service and for your work immersion stint in China. Phase 2: Immersion in China
For a period of 3 to 9 months, you will be attached to either the China office of a public sector agency, or a private sector firm in China. Besides being involved in project work, your will have the opportunity to interact with the Chinese and experience the Chinese work environment and culture. Phase 3: Return to the Singapore Public Service
After your China stint, you will return to your parent agency to continue your journey with the Singapore Public Service. You will be involved in China-related work, and will be expected to draw on the knowledge and skills you have acquired. If you perform well during the programme, you will be given the opportunity to continue your career in the Singapore Public Service. |
