Learning and Development Opportunities

We want to help every officer at PSD to reach their fullest potential - and that's why we have provide learning and development opportunities to PSD officers throughout their career with us.

An opportunity to learn, from day one

From day one, you will be learning. As a new officer, you'll attend our PSD Induction Programme to learn more about our culture and also gain the essential knowledge you'll need to get started at PSD.

As part of the programme, you'll also get to meet other new officers, officers from different clusters and our senior management team.

100 hours for training and personal development

Every year, you can attend up to 100 hours of training. 60% should be related to your current job responsibilities.

The remaining 40% can be for personal development or to prepare yourself for your future career in the service.

A variety of ways to train and develop yourself

There is on-the-job training, structured courses at the Civil Service College (CSC) or conferences and seminars. There are also opportunities to attend overseas seminars, conferences or study trips. 

Going back to school with our support

We have the Training Awards and Sponsorships Scheme which you can apply for sponsorship to further your studies.

The sponsorship can be used for postgraduate, degree and diploma courses.
