About GRaduate Industry Traineeships (GRIT) and GRIT@GOV Programmes

  1. In consultation with tripartite partners under the Singapore Economic Resilience Taskforce (SERT), the GRaduate Industry Traineeships (GRIT) and GRIT@Gov programmes will be introduced to support fresh graduates in gaining industry-relevant experience and skills, to facilitate their transition into full-time employment. GRIT will initially offer up to 800 structured traineeships for a period of three to six months across various sectors, for fresh graduates from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions).

  2. The GRIT Programme is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Manpower and Workforce Singapore that supports fresh graduates who are keen to gain exposure in leading companies in various industries.

  3. The GRIT@Gov Programme, coordinated by the Public Service Division (PSD), specifically supports traineeships for fresh graduates within public sector agencies.

Funding details

  1. Trainees will receive a monthly traineeship allowance ranging from $1,800 to $2,400 for the duration of the traineeship. The Government will fund 70 per cent of the traineeship allowance, while the Host Organisation funds the remaining 30 per cent. The monthly traineeship allowance may vary depending on the scope of each traineeship.

Eligibility criteria

  1. All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and

  • Graduated in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or

  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

  1. Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.

How to apply for a traineeship

  1. Applications for GRIT and GRIT@Gov programmes will commence from October 2025. Fresh graduates are encouraged to register their interest here, to be among the first to know when the programme is launched and opportunities become available.
