Permanent Secretary Appointments – 8 Sept 2014

Mr Chew Hock Yong, 49, Chief Executive, Land Transport Authority, will be appointed Second Permanent Secretary, Ministry of National Development (MND) on 1 October 2014. He will oversee the Municipal Services Office announced by the Prime Minister at the National Day Rally recently, and will also be closely involved in the MND’s strategic and land planning, and housing portfolios.

Mr Chew joined the Administrative Service in 1991. He had served in various capacities in the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Finance. In 2004, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the then Ministry of Community Development and Sports. He had been Chief Executive, Land Transport Authority since 2010.
